The Marche region is situated in the central-eastern part of the Italian peninsula and is an area of ancient origins in which various populations and dominations have succeeded one another, and which has been the scene of numerous historical events.  marche-map-italy
Many famous personalities from Giacomo Leopardi to  Gioacchino Rossini to Raffaello – to name but a few – were born in this land and retained a very strong attachment to it.
The Marche are a region in plural – and not just in name. Many and varied are the beauties which it contains, countless the places of interest to the visitor and a landscape with a mutating outline which passes in an instant from the soft contour of hills to the magical linearity of the mountains, leaving behind them the sea at merely a handful of kilometres.
The white peaks and the luscious green countryside offer a precious silence which makes this region a welcoming refuge, ideally suited to resting the mind.
Those who love authenticity of people and places, will find here traditions preserved.
Its villages and districts have the festival of the goose, of the snail, of mountain asparagus, of tagliatella, of the frog, of “vincisgrassi” (typical dish similar to lasagna), of “garagoi” (type of shellfish), and of “ciauscolo” (type of spreadable salami).
Modernity is present, but not too much and never ostentatious.
The Marche have been recognised as an ideal destination by a community of travelers searching for the perfect synthesis of a nation within a region.
This fact was admitted also by the New York Times, which speaks of Marcheshire as a new Tuscany: “run, drink, buy. If you wish to be among those exploring territories which will become famous” - encourages the famous newspaper from across the ocean, referring to our own region.
