Urbino was once the political and cultural centre of the family of Montefeltro. The town is immediately associated with the unique profile of the Palazzo Ducale, a masterpiece of Renaissance art, that today houses the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche.Urbino_z03 Our tour starts with a visit to this magnificent building that has given the town the prestigious recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards we will have a walk through the streets and alleys of the small historical centre, that is surrounded by baked brick ramparts, to see the unchanged charm of the town. We will also visit another of Urbino’s jewels: the Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista which walls are decorated with outstanding mural paintings made by Lorenzo and Jacopo Salimbeni in the 15th century. After that we can stop in a wine cellar to taste the products of this area.
